Travel Inspiration #3: Dublin Castle

Dublin Castle was the seat of British rule until Irish Independence in 1922. This Castle is located just off of Dame Street, just south of the river – in the heart of Dublin.  Most of the castle was built in the 18th Century, but some of it dates back to the 12th Century.

Reading of a building that has been in existence 300 years before Europeans had stumbled upon North America is just fascinating to me.  Irish history was never all that enthralling for me, but when visiting Dublin this is a cite I would want to see.

Have you been to the Dublin Castle? If one is visiting Dublin, should one make a stop here?  What travel photos really inspire you?
