African Road Block

I was organizing some files this weekend and I found this video from our trip to Africa.  We were heading from the Victoria Falls airport to the Matetsi Water Lodge.  As we round a corner a large (large for my American eyes, probably not so large for folks from the area) herd of elephants stood blocking the road.
You can see the adults protecting the babies.  The adults are also smelling the air (as they lift their trunks) – they know we are there.  This wasn’t a scary encounter as we had our guides with us and they were armed, should the unthinkable happen.

Have you been driving through the wilderness and stumble upon a herd of wild animals impeding your path? Were you scared?  Has a herd of animals tell you (in not so many words) that you stink?
